¿Qué indicadores económicos adelantan las recesiones en España?

Resumen
En este trabajo usamos árboles de clasificación para examinar cuáles son los mejores indicadores económicos para anticipar las recesiones en la economía española a partir de una muestra de 270 indicadores mensuales desde enero de 1971 hasta el mes de marzo de 2020. La probabilidad de recesión predicha por los modelos a horizontes de tres y seis meses concuerda con las recesiones establecidas por el Comité de Fechado de Ciclos. En un ejercicio que simula la predicción en tiempo real, encontramos que los indicadores financieros y de la construcción cobraron especial protagonismo para predecir la Gran Recesión. Sin embargo, la recesión derivada de la crisis sanitaria de la COVID-19 se infiere mejor con indicadores adelantados de la tendencia del PIB, del desempleo y, en menor medida, de las ventas de coches
