Resumen

Many research organizations around the world are adopting an evaluation model that moves away from traditional CVs and is based on a new format, the narrative CV. In this text, we highlight the main characteristics of narrative CVs, emphasizing their advantages for presenting academic achievements in a con-cise and focused manner. Narrative CVs, which are usually brief, allow re-searchers to highlight the milestones they consider most relevant in their ca-reer, without focusing exclusively on scientific publications or the academic impact of these. This approach promotes a qualitative evaluation of research, giving researchers the freedom to emphasize the contributions they consider most important. However, it faces criticism for potential subjectivity in evalua-tion, the influence of the applicant's rhetoric, and other challenges such as lin-guistic barriers and gender biases. Finally, with the aim of familiarizing re-searchers with this new model, we offer ten tips or recommendations for effec-tive writing of a narrative CV, emphasizing the importance of highlighting recent and relevant achievements and developing a personal narrative that allows indi-vidualizing the research capabilities of the applicant.
