Resumen

Currently, profiling plays an important role in the field of criminology, both regarding prevention and analysis of criminal events already commited. The present theoretical review aims to gather and present the outcomes of the latest research on indirect profiling of personality , in order to find patterns that demonstrate their usefulness in order to determine personality traits of individuals involved in crime (whether victims or perpetrators ). Taking social networks as research context, and adopting a systematic review process, researches of four different databases were analyzed, proceeding finally to classify the results and getting to general conclusions about each of the personality factors that make up the Big Five and their relationship with the individual’s behavior through social networks.
