Resumen
Nuestro planeta ha entrado en una nueva época geológica, el Antropoceno, caracterizada por el impacto de los seres humanos sobre el Sistema Tierra. Actualmente, las actividades humanas están afectando de forma profunda a la mayor parte de los procesos que determinan, globalmente, el funcionamiento de la ecosfera. Los seres humanos y nuestras sociedades se han convertido en una fuerza geofísica global en los albores del siglo XXI. Durante las próximas décadas, la humanidad tendrá que reconsiderar sus actuales patrones de desarrollo y progreso si no quiere acabar enfrentándose a un colapso ecológico y social cuyas consecuencias podrían resultar dramáticas. Bajo este contexto, necesitaremos repensar el concepto de bienestar humano desde una perspectiva socio-ecológica y sostenible
