Aportación al estudio de la edad de aparición en adultos de los diferentes tipos de cáncer

Abstract

Background and objective: The age at which cancers displayed different locations is different and follows a pattern that can be used for the development of preventive measures. The aim is to describe in our population the age at diagnosis of this disease in different locations in adult individuals. Materials and methods: Inclusion criteria were patients first diagnosed with cancer between 2003 and 2009 at the Hospital Clínico Universitario Lozano Blesa, de Zaragoza. As a method to describe the distribution of cancer site used the distribution of frequencies and measures of central tendency mean, median, mode and range to describe age. Results: Cancers that appear at a later age in men were: male breast (74.00 years), lip (73.40 years), skin (73.11 years), stomach (72.57 years) and rectum (72, 00 years). The cancers that occur at a younger age are the testis (27.66 years), Hogdkin (39.66 years), lymphoma (41.33 years) and thyroid (56). In women, cancers later in life were: stomach (77.50 years), vulva (76.50 years), bladder (73.85 years) and skin (72.84 years). Cancers at an early age were at the locations of Non-Hodgkin lymphomas and Hogdking disease (37 and 45, respectively). Conclusions: There are many factors that will influence the age of diagnosis is therefore important to know that age under different conditions to minimize or avoid them.
