Resumen

New teaching methodologies, such as constructivism, focus on the learner and the need to overcome traditional educational models. However, the question concerning sustainable development is not where the focus of the educational model has shifted to but rather what learning spaces should be like and how they should be managed to promote quality education. Based on this, this study aims to analyse current education and propose a teaching-learning model that integrates educational agents and their environment. In order to guide the study, the following questions have been posed: how can traditional education lose its centrality and be integrated into a network of interconnected experiential spaces? How can a mode physical, experiential and lived education be designed and developed? Some of the relevant hegemonic discourses in education are addressed and analysed. It also explores the values of the traditional versus hybrid educational institutional identity perspective and reflects on quality education. It proposes the model of hybrid educational spaces in the education framework for sustainable development that merge disciplines and diverse learning spaces that are not limited to classroom walls.
