Abstract

Researching the profession of Social Education from the perspective of the pandemic must be considered as a challenge to continue evolving towards specialization and recognition of the profession. In times of pandemic and in the present, it is the great forgotten of the professions of first line as it has been seen in the different manifestations and media. This work collects data from five testimonies of social educators who practiced in the pandemic and currently work with groups of children, adolescents, drug addiction and the elderly. A semi-structured interview designed ad hoc and validated by expert triangulation has been used for data collection. The questions have raised needs, actions in the before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The result of their opinions indicates certain similarities in the actions that should be carried out and they agree on the needs that exist. To conclude this article, it sheds light on the actions of the future of social education and the identity of the profession and shows that social education is a main and multidisciplinary profession in situations of risk and emergency such as the one lived in COVID-19 and in the present times.
