Since the publication in 1980 of the Religious Freedom Organic Act (RFOA), Spanish legal doctrine has made efforts to provide criteria for the resolution of hypothetical contradictions between its rules and those established in the Agreements between the Holy See and Spain, which were signed shortly before. The case is that those theoretical conflicts are a non-existent problem. A comparison of texts show there are no real basis for antinomies. An analysis is carried out of sentences from both the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court, with mentions to the RFOA, which confirms the impossibility of such a conflict.
