Abstract
This work aims to make an approach to the visionary experience of María de Ajofrín (¿?-1489) by exploring the different Vidas of male authorship that we have and putting the focus of attention on the scenes that show her relationship with books and the different literacy processes. It will try to prove that the authors who approached her and resorted to the narration of these episodes used performance as a discursive strategy to legitimize her identity and establish her authority in the public space
