Resumo
Transmedia narratives are a reality in today’s society, as they offer the possibility of using variousplatforms and media to communicate messages while appealing to the active role of the receivers who becomecreators. From an educational approach, they can be used to dynamise the teaching-learning processes in anytype of training. This paper reviews the literature on the use of these methodologies in Spanish universityeducation -Scopus, 2016-2021-. The results show the gradual increase, accelerated by the Covid-19 crisis,of transmedia narratives as a teaching methodology, at the same time as the interest of the academy in themhas increased. Resources such as educational platforms, MOOCs, video in different formats and videoconferencingapplications have demonstrated the flexibility and multiple ways in which new media can be used topromote meaningful learning. Transmedia narratives, in addition to encouraging student participation, open upnew possibilities at an expressive level; although they are still not being used to their full potential, as sometimesthe technological aspect is given priority and they require training and capacity building for teachers. Itis concluded that transmedia narratives are a tool increasingly used in the Spanish university environment andwith an important future development.
