Abstract

Terrorism, which has appeared in cinema more than 50 yearsago, has generally given priority to perpetrators. However, in the last 30 years, the protagonism of the victims has been increasing, except for those known as collateral victims, whichsome way have always had a significant appearance. This study analyzes particularly those which fall into this category based on three films: Días contados, Juego de lágrimas, and Babel. As a result of this analysis, it can be concluded that there is a perception of similarities in the representation of the victims, in their protagonism, and their (in-)direct link with terrorism as a consequence of the different narratives on the causes of their victimization
