Objetivos de desarrollo sostenible

Resumen

Questo articolo studia le forme di rappresentazione del jazz come tradizione afroamericana. In particolare, si concentra sulle sue implicazioni socio-culturali e politiche basate sulla figura di Louis Armstrong come rappresentante del volto amichevole del jazz classico. Il jazz è un genere musicale marginale agli esordi, che acquisisce una presenza mainstream di rilievo grazie alla sua integrazione nell’industria culturale, sollevando interrogativi sui modi in cui viene rappresentato. In primo luogo, affrontiamo la natura multidimensionale della musica in relazione a una nozione dinamica di immaginario. In secondo luogo, indaghiamo la politica di rappresentazione impiegata nella musica popolare attraverso il jazz classico, considerando l’identità etno-razziale e le nozioni di posa e taglio. Inoltre, si effettua un’analisi socio-semiotica di Alta società (High Society, Charles Walters, 1956), un musical hollywoodiano in cui Armstrong interpreta se stesso.
