Resumen

As background of TV series, films oradvertisement, the city is an essential element ofaudiovisual storytelling. Cities have been used as spacesthat climate the story giving storytelling weight andauthenticity. In Animation film particularly, cities expandthe expressive possibilities of space and narration aslong as they are generated on purpose for the story. In this paper I will take as a case study the cityof San Fransokyo, developed for the film Big Hero 6(2014) by Disney Inc, in order to observe the process ofhybridization between West and East. It will focus on spacesemerged from this fictional city -a special mash up of SanFrancisco and Tokyo- offering a new, rich and singularplace where tradition and innovation coincide and collide.
