Abstract

The appearance of the Internet as a new means of communication has led to differentbehaviours ranging from changes in the content production to the displacement of the audience to different screens which are common in the age of broadcasting. The transmediastorytelling seems to provide a solution to the problems caused by the disruptive nature oftechnology. Although it has started being studied as a phenomenon linked to the audiovisual production, it now extends to other forms of communication The importance given to the theoretical and practical development makes it compulsory tostudy the various cultural products to determine how they fit to the new types of transmediaarchitecture. In this paper, we research the relationship established between animation, as a relevantaudiovisual product, and transmedia storytelling, as a new form of organising a story. Wewill study some clear relationships between transmedia storytelling and animation. Finally,we will conclude offering conclusions that our analysis has driven us: “Animation is a narrative form that perfectly fits the qualities transmedia architecture suggests”.
