¿Es posible mitigar la migración africana hacia la Unión Europea?

Abstract
En el punto de mira de los partidos ultranacionalistas, la migración desde África (marroquís, somalís y, en menor medida, etíopes, kenianos, ugandeses, congoleños y chadianos) hacia la Unión Europea abarca no solamente a ciudadanos africanos, sino también a personas procedentes de Oriente Próximo y Oriente Medio/Asia. La mejora de las condiciones de vida en esos países de origen puede atenuar las corrientes migratorias hacia Europa, aunque los esfuerzos actuales por parte de la sociedad internacional se diluyen en función de sus muchos desafíos globales -terrorismo, cambio climático, etc.- que demandan atención y recursos inmediatos y dificultan su canalización hacia la consecución de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible. Paralelamente, los países de acogida pueden beneficiarse de los flujos migratorios para su propio desarrollo nacional, dependiendo esencialmente de la voluntad política e inteligencia en la concepción y aplicación de los programas nacionales.
