The application of Artificial Intelligence in the higher educationis strengthening new environments, perspectives and horizons. Theteaching of Journalism and Audiovisual Communication is one of thespecific areas where its implementation is more appropriate, due tothe use of algorithms of “artificial journalism” or the bots and factchecking mechanisms in the newsrooms. However, their incorporation into the current educational scene is still a minority. This chapter deals with the state of the question of the application of AI in the higher education environment and reviews some didactic and professional experiences that are already being developed. Finally, the uses and potentialities of AI in the teaching environment are presented and recommendations are made for the transition to the next e-Learning teaching at the university level under the prism of digital humanism.
