Resumen
Since the dawn of history, science and belief have been engaged in a permanent dialogue, as they are centered on the human being, who tries to assign meaning and significance to the events that occur, both those that happen to him or her and those that happen around him or her. With this intricate relationship in mind, the aim of this article is to reflect on how beliefs can be considered determinants of health in the same way as other types of psychological or social factors such as culture or environment. This reflection is based on the considerations of authors such as Cassell and Frankl, as well as relevant scientific research that has convincingly demonstrated the positive impact that beliefs have on health.
