Is a related right sufficient to support quality journalism? The serious economic crisis that the journalistic sector is going through justifies the opportunity of the creation of a new right created ad hoc for publishers and authors of the press. This is, in fact, the factual budget that the European legislator created through the Copyright Directive a related right conceived for publishers and authors of the press, so that they can enforce rights corresponding to the use of their online publications against providers of services on the Internet. The incorporation into internal law of the European text has been carried out by means of an omnibus decree that, although it has a vocation of temporality, since it needs to be endorsed in Parliament, supposes the birth of a new right. This article describes the main novelties that the birth of the new right implies, in order to determine its delimitation and scope.
