Résumé

Football is the most popular sport in the world and is performed by men and women, children and adults with different levels of expertise. Football performance depends upon a myriad of factors such as technical, biomechanical, tactical, mental and physiological areas. The aim of the present study is to show a variety of information about the physical and physiological demands on elite football players. Moreover, the psychological factors have been valued as a key aspect at all stages of performance. Be aware of these demands, allows the coaching staff to control the training load in order to modify it according to the desired purposes and adequate this training load to competition load.
