Abstract

Has Spanish radio lost its soul? Has it ceased to be that hot medium recognizable by its closeness to the listener? Has it given up fighting the battle for political influence? Did the radio of the stars die of success? Did it tip the balance excessively on the side of the communicator, forgetting almost sacred elements of the radio language such as the punctuality of the news bulletin? The journalist Federico Volpini is credited with the affirmation: "Journalists have taken the radio." The quote refers to the process experienced by the Spanish radio during the political transition, when the News were appropriating the grills to the detriment of guides at the expense of the Programs. In the transition from the radio model that we intend to address in this study, the question of who has taken ownership of the radio makes sense again. The consulting firms? The big communication companies? The listeners? The advertisers? The political class?..
