Zusammenfassung

Tourism is configured as one of the main economic sectors worldwide, generating significant benefits for destinations. The aim of this article is to review the scientific literature on the border tourism, in order to know what their characteristics, strengths and weaknesses of their development, to establish subsequently future research. In this context, it responds to the need that exists in the various scientific fields for periodic review of existing literature and, for this reason, they are diverse investigations tourism conducting literature reviews to know the situation on a certain tourist theme. The sources of data collection have been secondary, all from scientific papers published in journals.
