Carrera dual en deportistas de alto nivel españoles: facilidades y dificultades para su proceso de integración socio-laboral tras la retirada.

Resumen

The aim of the study was to ana-lyze the degree of compli-ance/knowledge of the measures en-acted to facilitate the reconciliation of sport career with the academic lives of athletes, for teachers and ath-letes. There are three different mod-els of career: The linear career where the athlete is dedicated exclusively to the sport, convergent in which priori-tizes the sport but keeps a second ac-tivity (studies or work), and the par-allel career where the athlete engages same with both activities. The dual career would be associated with the convergent and parallel models. Sample: 10 top athletes Spanish (6 males and 4 females), (European or World Championships medalists, or Olympic Games). Depth inter-views were conducted using an in-terview guide, consisting of flexible questions with five sections of which two questions were extracted. The interviews were recorded and tran-scribed verbatim for subsequent qualitative analysis through software ATLAS.ti version 7. It was conclud-ed that most teachers did not demon-strate knowledge of the rules of sup-port for athletes; the rest met the standards according to their personal criteria. It was also noted that there are athletes interested in supporting the legislation, they did know its benefits, while there were athletes who, despite opting for the develop-ment of a dual career, were not aware of official regulations that benefited them.
