Resumen

Recently, a new fatal case of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever appeared in Salamanca, a 69-year-old man who had presented nonspecific symptoms. His condition worsened and a blackish lesion was discovered on one leg, just where he had suffered a tick bite in previous days. Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever is a mild febrile illness that can progress to severe and often fatal bleeding. It is considered an emerging disease in eastern European countries and one of the most widespread tick-borne diseases worldwide.
