Zusammenfassung
This paper has been a spontaneous opportunity that presented itself in the gathering of empirical data in a specific case study. In 2013 an emblematic training school of Seville closed. It was the Miraflores Park School. After being in existence for 20 years it was to close so I decided to do some research based on this final version of the school, in order to leave a constant reminder of a school model created from an educative praxis. The origins of the school can be traced back to the 1980’s. Deep roots were established in the community through the process of citizen participation and it has won over the area, which is located in the northern neighbourhoods of Seville. In all these processes, neighbours were seriously involved along with the popular educational group of Andalucía. They influenced the design and development of the educational projects tremendously. This is why this is a unique case. Job training has been provided with a broad and alternative approach through popular education. The subject matter of this study has been selected by the participants themselves. The working student has shown and explained what has been his or her learning process, the changes felt and the knowledge acquired. The volume of data gathered, using interviews of the youth participating in the Project has brought to light topics that, although off the central topic, have provided surprising educational insight. Amongst other things, differences, handicaps, and diversity were emic questions that appeared and which could be used as true educational resources and opportunities. Without avoidance or making things obvious, we will be able to create an ambience of respect and coexistence.
