In general terms, we can say that we all experience a transformation in daily life and in how to understand and interpret the world from interaction with communication media. However, it is at the stage of adolescence that this exchange becomes most relevant, as it combines a process of intense transformation of the individual with a process of social desirability. Teens face the growth of their body, the emergence of previously unknown desires and needs, and new ways of relating to and behaving with friends of the same and the opposite sex. At the same time, society loads adolescents with all the expectations of continuity, change and transformation of society and culture. In all this, communication media plays a central role. In the current field of pedagogy, the concepts of adolescence and of communication media are interdependents categories of analysis. Yet addressing one concept without the other is almost impossible since we are dealing with a phenomenon of cultural omnipresence of communication media and with the ideal of youth in society. The school as a social agent must reflect this reality, in order to respond to current social dynamics of adolescents; therefore, the main objective of this paper is to present a conceptualization of the communicative characteristics of adolescents in media society.
