Resumen
Introduction: Given the apparent inefficiency of methods and assessment tools for Parkinson patients to detect significant changes in motor complications, and given the impact of this fact in the posterior Parkinson treatments. Objective: Describe the current research state of motor assessment of Parkinsons disease patients. And afterwards, present a proposal of possible tools to use depending on the therapist that conducting the assessment. Research Strategy: Research and selection of scientific publications that showed the assessment tools for Parkinsons patients (published between 1995-2009 in EBSCO databases and the Cochrane Library). Summary of results: We reviewed 87 publications related to motor assessment of Parkinsons patients, in which we found differences in the scales and assessment tools recommended and/or used. In this regard, we appreciate the Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS) is the most widespread. However, there is a perceived need to supplement it with other generic assessment tools. Conclusions: Given the large number of scales and motor assessment tools for Parkinson patients. We feel the need to clarify questions about its use. We therefore support the approach to the disease from a multidisciplinary perspective.
