Resumen

Different studies at the Spanish national and at the international level highlight that the analysis of adverse events improves the quality of care in the health sector. Numerous experiences at the international level also emphasize the importance of the implementation of an open disclosure policy of adverse events to patients following the model of the Sorry Works! Coalition, in order to increase users’ trust in the health system. Nevertheless, the current Spanish legislation does not contribute to the implication of professionals in risks management in the field of health care.
