At present, handball, considered one of the most practiced sports in Europe (Prieto, Gómez and Sampaio, 2015), has developed in its practice in a significantly way making the championships competitions with a high level of play and performance (Prudente, Sousa, Sequeira, López-López and Hernández-Mendo, 2017). Part of that evolution affects explicitly the importance in the game of the players of the first line (central and lateral), as well as the scarce use of the players that occupy external positions (extremes) in the depth (Montoya, Moras and Anguera, 2013). The objective of this study is to compare the technical-tactical performance of the players that occupy the specific demarcation of extreme left and extreme right in high performance handball.
