Resumen
In fighting sports, specifically in taekwondo, competitors are surprised by numerous leg techniques at high speed, to which they must react to avoid the opponent’s score. The aim of this study has been measuring the hand-eye reaction time and distinguishing the type of vision used in taekwondists with different expertise levels. 33 taekwondists took part in the study, divided into 10 experts and 23 novices. The instrument used was the Dynavision D2, a speed of reaction meter that sends stimuli in succession to the athletes, so that they react rapidly. It was proved that expert taekwondists have major capacity of reaction than novices and that the view and movements used are related to the way that high-level taekwondists defend against kicks.
